Friends of the New Hartford Public Library Fund
A designated fund established by the Friends of the New Hartford Public Library to promote awareness of and interest in the New Hartford Public Library and its services.
Overview
The purpose of the Friends of the New Hartford Public Library is to promote knowledge of the library in terms of its functions, resources and services. The Friends organization raises funds with their annual Bill Bonsted Indoor Miniature Golf Tournament, ongoing sales in their used book room, as well as membership dues and donations. Most recently, they received a bequest from the estate of Earl Cunningham. It was decided to open a fund at the Community Foundation which will enhance the work of the library for future projects. Earl was very active in his beloved community and helped initiate, along with his wife Sara and a small group of others, the beginnings of the New Hartford Public Library. He served on the Board of Trustees for many years. He supported the library in many ways, always finding new possibilities for improvement.
