A strong arts community means a stronger region. The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties recently awarded over $270,000 to local nonprofits through its Arts Grant Round. Learn how these investments are helping creativity thrive in the area.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation are pleased to announce that the fourth-annual online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” will take place on Friday, September 19, benefiting nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida, and Otsego counties. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating must complete a brief registration form at givemv.org between Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 31.  

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties offers meaningful ways to give back through its Memorial and Celebration Funds, which allow individuals to commemorate loved ones or celebrate life’s special moments while making a lasting impact on the community. 

Samaritan Counseling Center of the Mohawk Valley has established a permanent partnership with the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties through the creation of four new funds to support, expand and continue its impact for years to come.

A new fund at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties will support college education and essential human services organizations through proceeds from a newly released children’s book.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties offers a creative solution through its donor-advised funds, which are specifically designed for individuals and/or families who wish to actively engage in charitable giving. For businesses looking to give back, the organization also offers corporate donor-advised funds.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation hosted the third annual “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on September 20 to raise funds for local nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida and Otsego counties. The community came together and raised over $5.2 million thanks to contributions from more than 8,200 donors, making it a record-breaking year for the campaign. All 325 participating nonprofit organizations received a donation through the giving event.
