Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation to Host Fourth-Annual Giving Day to Support Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation are pleased to announce that the fourth-annual online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” will take place on Friday, September 19, benefiting nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida, and Otsego counties. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating must complete a brief registration form at givemv.org between Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 31.

The event, which is proudly presented by Staffworks and M&T Bank, brought together more than 8,200 donors last year who collectively raised over $5.2 million for 325 nonprofit organizations devoted to animal rights, disability services, racial equity, education, arts and culture, health and wellness, emergency response and everything in between.

"Each year, the Mohawk Valley shows up and supports these important organizations who help our community thrive. We always say how generous this region is, and Mohawk Valley Gives is a true testament to that. We are so excited to see what this next year holds!" 

Building on last year’s record-breaking campaign, Mohawk Valley Gives team members are planning to engage the community on every level this year to ensure everyone can play a role in making this giving event a success.  Mohawk Valley Gives 2025 will also see the return of “Mohawk Valley Gives University,” which offers customized training and support for participating organizations.  

“Mohawk Valley Gives has been a game-changer for our organization,” said Mary Ellen McGillan, executive director of Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts. “For the third year in a row, we've been proud to participate in this incredible community-wide fundraising event. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the support of the Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation, we've been able to significantly increase our funding and expand our programs. It's inspiring to see how this online platform has empowered hundreds of nonprofits in our region to make a positive impact." 

Mohawk Valley Gives is hosted by the Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation and is proudly presented by Staffworks and M&T Bank.
