The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties is pleased to announce the 2019 Community Choice Awards, an $85,000 contest to help local nonprofits realize priority community projects.

Nonprofit organizations located in Herkimer or Oneida counties are invited to submit a brief grant proposal for consideration in ONE of the eight categories below by Friday, July 19.

All nonprofits located in the City of Rome must apply for consideration in the Copper City category.

Community Foundation staff in consultation with category sponsors will select three finalists in each category. The public will vote online to determine the recipients of eight $10,000 grants being awarded to local nonprofits.

Community Foundation staff, Trustees and category sponsors will surprise each category winner at the chosen organization’s headquarters with a big check and celebration on Wednesday, September 18.

After the votes are tallied and the eight grand-prize winners have been chosen by the community, one of the remaining 16 finalists will be selected to receive a special $5,000 Board Recognition Award given by The Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The Community Choice Awards are a great opportunity for nonprofit organizations to connect with the community, share their story – and potentially win $10,000!
