The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties is pleased to announce the 2019 Community Choice Awards, an $85,000 grantmaking program to help local nonprofits realize priority community projects.
Nonprofit organizations in Herkimer and Oneida counties are invited to submit grant proposals for projects in eight categories: animal welfare; arts and culture; copper city (City of Rome); education; health and wellness; human services; seniors; and sports and recreation. Community Foundation staff, in consultation with category sponsors, will select three finalists in each category. The public will vote online in August to determine the recipients of eight $10,000 grants being awarded to local nonprofits.
Interested nonprofits must apply by Friday, July 19, 2019, to be considered for participation. Visit www.ccawards.org for more information on the rules and regulations of the contest and to apply.
After the votes are tallied and the eight grand-prize winners have been chosen by the community, one of the remaining 16 finalists will be selected to receive a special $5,000 Board Recognition Award given by The Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
This year’s Community Choice Awards category sponsors include:
• All In For Vin Memorial Fund
• Bull Family Fund
• David & Janet Griffith Family Fund
• M&T Bank/Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund
