The Cornhill Revitalization Project invites community members of all ages to attend Cornhill Spring Fest, a free family-friendly celebration designed to bring neighbors together through creativity, connection, and community pride.

Taking place on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Cornhill Empowerment Center, 230 James Street in Utica, the event will feature music, food, games, raffle giveaways, activities for all ages, and a community mural painting experience designed and shaped by Cornhill residents. Local nonprofit partners will also be tabling and hosting activities throughout the event.

Residents were invited to participate in the mural planning process by sharing ideas and feedback through an online survey about what they wanted the mural to represent. Using that input, two mural concepts were developed, and community members voted to determine the final design that will be brought to life during the event on the exterior of the Cornhill Empowerment Center.

“This event is an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate Cornhill, and contribute to creating something lasting and meaningful within the neighborhood,” said Tyler Hutchinson, director of strategic initiatives at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. “The mural reflects the voices, ideas, and vision shared by residents and neighbors, helping to create a space that feels welcoming, visible, and meaningfully connected to the neighborhood.”

Community members are encouraged to bring their families and friends to take part in painting the mural and celebrating the neighborhood.

Cornhill Spring Fest is presented by the Cornhill Revitalization Project, with support from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. The event is sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, Liberty Painters and Decorators, Stewart’s Shops, and Chobani, with additional support from Compassion Coalition and Sephora.
