The ABCs of DAFs (What Nonprofits Need to Know and Do About Donor-Advised Funds)

Time: Webinar from noon – 1:30 p.m., lunch will be provided
Cost: Free for Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) members, $10 for non-members (must be paid online or via check to AFP-CNY Chapter in advance)
This interactive webinar will help participants better understand what donor-advised funds are and how they work, including the benefits of using one, how to properly identify a gift through a donor-advised fund, and what nonprofits can do to actively solicit and cultivate these types of donors.
Nuts and Bolts of Governance: Improving Nonprofit Board Operations

Nonprofit operations can be complicated, and their governance is often confusing for many that serve on boards. This presentation will address issues such as the importance of following bylaws, how to define a conflict of interest, voting and decision making, as well as discussion on many frequently asked questions.

Participants will review best practice board roles and responsibilities, examine a framework for assessing the types of resistance organizations must address, and then use the framework to draft an action plan to address and overcome the resistance.
