The Connor Arthur Lynskey Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties announced this year’s recipients of awards to graduating seniors from high schools in Herkimer and Oneida counties.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties presented its Community Impact Award to Human Technologies (HT) on June 26, 2025. The Community Impact Award celebrates, rewards, and encourages outstanding achievement in the charitable sector and is presented to a nonprofit organization serving Herkimer and/or Oneida counties that has shown outstanding service to its constituents.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, community members, nonprofit partners, and local leaders gathered together for the highly anticipated Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly reintroduced Cornhill Empowerment Center. The event, held at 230 James Street in Utica, marked an exciting new chapter for the neighborhood and was a major success.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation are pleased to announce that the fourth-annual online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” will take place on Friday, September 19, benefiting nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida, and Otsego counties. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating must complete a brief registration form at givemv.org between Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 31.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties hosted a successful Community Dinner on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 bringing together community leaders, residents, and stakeholders to discuss a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing neighborhood investment and community engagement.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation hosted the third annual “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on September 20 to raise funds for local nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida and Otsego counties. The community came together and raised over $5.2 million thanks to contributions from more than 8,200 donors, making it a record-breaking year for the campaign. All 325 participating nonprofit organizations received a donation through the giving event.

For the second consecutive year, The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties has been named the BEST PLACE TO WORK in Central New York in the 15-50 employee category.

As Mohawk Valley Gives approaches its third year, the event continues to showcase the power of collective philanthropy by providing a unique opportunity for donors to make a substantial impact in their community.

Two local foundations—the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation (UMF) — are partnering to co-host the third annual 24-hour online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives.” This collaboration will expand the reach and impact of the event, while also opening the door to exploration and growth opportunities in the future related to the giving day.
