The Lead-Free Mohawk Valley (LFMV) Coalition is marking National Healthy Homes Month 2020 in June with an increasing focus on making more Utica homes safer and healthier.

Hero Fund America Fund (HFA) announced a round of grants for 2020 intended to increase awareness, advocacy and support for fire, emergency medical services (EMS), and law enforcement agencies in New York and other state.

As nonprofit organizations meet critical needs stemming from the global pandemic’s community impact, requests for funding from the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund have now exceeded $1.2 million.

Providing meals for area residents while supporting local restaurants is the focus of two grants totaling $75,400 from the Utica National Group Foundation.

 Community Foundation and the United Way of the Mohawk Valley are encouraging community members to consider making a donation to the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund.

Contributing to this effort will provide assistance to front-line organizations helping those who need it most. A donation of any amount will make a difference to the most vulnerable community residents.
