The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties will host the third-annual 24-hour online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on Friday, September 20, to benefit nonprofits serving the Mohawk Valley. Organizations interested in participating for 2024 will need to complete a registration form at givemv.org between Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 31.

Last year, more than 6,800 donors from all over the world came together and raised nearly $2.5 million, benefiting 255 nonprofit organizations devoted to animal rights, disability services, racial equity, education, arts and culture, health and wellness, emergency response and more.

“The second year of Mohawk Valley Gives was a tremendous success and exceeded all expectations,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Alicia Dicks. “The total dollars raised tripled compared to the previous inaugural year and that is all thanks to the hard work that our nonprofits put in and the incredible support from our amazing community that gave to the causes that they care most about. We are thrilled to see what this year will bring.”

Following last year’s recording-breaking campaign, Mohawk Valley Gives 2024 will feature more robust training and support opportunities for nonprofit participants, the return of a prize pool that will award cash prizes to organizations on the giving day, an increased focus on securing match and challenge incentives and a new online shop to purchase Mohawk Valley Gives branded merchandise.

“Mohawk Valley Gives gave us a wonderful platform to raise funds from so many different people and places that we could never access on our own,” said Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association President Bill Fahy. “We attracted quite a few new members throughout the event as well – a welcome bonus I did not expect! The giving platform was easy to use and I appreciate the support from the Community Foundation in getting our campaign all set up.”

Mohawk Valley Gives is powered by the Community Foundation and is proudly presented by Staffworks and M&T Bank. Organizations interested in participating in this year’s event should visit givemv.org to fill out a brief registration survey by Friday, May 31.
