The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties is seeking applications from human services organizations including, but not limited to, food pantries, soup kitchens, and/or shelters, for the Helpful Harvest Grant Round, supported by the Helpful Harvest Fund at the Community Foundation.
“Each year, we support food pantries during the November-December holiday season, and we are getting an early start to ensure needs are met in a timely manner as our partners begin to organize to meet food shortages,” said Olivia Paul, director of community engagement at the Community Foundation. “We established the Helpful Harvest Fund to help nonprofits meet their needs stemming from economic difficulty and food insecurity in the two counties.”
Nonprofits may apply now through Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. at foundationhoc.org/helpfulharvest.
In 2022, the Helpful Harvest Fund awarded $38,500 to more than 30 organizations. Many Community Foundation fundholders donated to the fund or recommended a grant directly to eligible organizations as part of their year-end giving. Donations to the fund are accepted year-round in anticipation of the holiday season.
