Community Foundation Week is November 12-18

During the week of November 12-18, 2019, The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties will join more than 795 community foundations across the country celebrating Community Foundation Week, marking the occasion with a social media campaign highlighting this year’s local community investments.

“From coordinating Oneida County’s flood-relief funding effort, to our long-term investments addressing childhood lead poisoning, poverty and other challenges, we’re doing the work that decades of donor support have made possible,” said Alicia Dicks, president/CEO. “Even as we support a growing number of positive economic developments in this community, critical needs remain, and our continuing commitment to stewardship and community investment is charting a course for a more vibrant region.”

Community foundations are independent, public entities that steward philanthropic resources from institutional and individual donors to local nonprofits. The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties has transitioned from a traditional grant-maker to an active investor, leader and partner that works to address longstanding community needs. Since its founding in 1952, The Community Foundation has invested more than $75 million in the two counties.
