The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation will host the fifth-annual online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on Friday, September 18, to benefit local nonprofits serving the region.

More than 440 nonprofits are participating, using social media and other means of engagement to inspire and energize their donors. Support areas include animals, human services, racial equity, education, arts and culture, emergency response, food insecurity and hunger, health, and many others. The full list of participating organizations is available at givemv.org.

Since the event’s inception in 2022, nearly $15 million has been raised by donors from all over the world. In 2025 alone, more than 14,100 donors came together and raised over $6.5 million, benefiting 369 nonprofit organizations.

“Year after year, Mohawk Valley Gives showcases the incredible generosity and community spirit found throughout our region,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Alicia Dicks. “It is inspiring to see so many people rally behind the organizations that work tirelessly to serve our neighbors and strengthen our communities. We look forward to seeing that generosity in action once again and celebrating everything we can accomplish together.”

Now in its third year as a co-host, UpMobility Foundation continues to be a valued partner in bringing Mohawk Valley Gives to life. This collaboration combines the strengths of two foundations, expanding the reach, expertise, and collective impact of the giving day.

“The impact of Mohawk Valley Gives is driven by thousands of individual acts of generosity that add up to something truly meaningful,” said UpMobility Foundation Executive Director Amy Lindner. “Together, those gifts provide nonprofits with the resources to expand opportunities, respond to community needs, and continue making a difference throughout our region. UpMobility Foundation is proud to help carry this momentum forward and help create a more vibrant community.”

Mohawk Valley Gives also partners with the Staffworks Fund for its annual Save a Life Campaign, and the Community Foundation of Otsego County, enabling Otsego area nonprofits to benefit from the giving day.

With a minimum donation amount of just $5, anyone can support the causes they care about during Mohawk Valley Gives. Donations will be accepted at givemv.org from Monday, September 14, through the remainder of the week, but donations made on the Friday, September 18 giving day will help nonprofits maximize their fundraising goals by unlocking matches and challenges while also entering them in the running for other Mohawk Valley Gives incentives, such as monetary prizes. The donation window closes on Friday, September 18, at 9:00 p.m.

This year, over 100 prizes across 40 categories totaling more than $55,000 will be awarded throughout the giving day. Prize awards and categories can be explored at givemv.org/prizes.
