The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties offers a creative solution through its donor-advised funds, which are specifically designed for individuals and/or families who wish to actively engage in charitable giving. For businesses looking to give back, the organization also offers corporate donor-advised funds.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties announced that more than $1.85 million in grants were awarded during the second quarter of 2024 to support organizations and initiatives benefiting every corner of the community and beyond.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation hosted the third annual “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on September 20 to raise funds for local nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida and Otsego counties. The community came together and raised over $5.2 million thanks to contributions from more than 8,200 donors, making it a record-breaking year for the campaign. All 325 participating nonprofit organizations received a donation through the giving event.

Through the Helpful Harvest Grant Round, supported by the Helpful Harvest Fund, the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties awarded $71,849 to 50 human service organizations including food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters to help alleviate food insecurity and support increased need around the holidays and colder months.

A Utica couple whose generosity has touched countless lives over the last two decades has received the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties’ highest award for community philanthropy.
