Grant Application Deadlines


The Community Foundation views each of its investments and grants as a community partnership for maximum impact. Submitting a grant application is the first step toward establishing this partnership. To begin the process, please contact Jan Squadrito, Senior Community Investment Manager, at 315-731-3728 or jsquadrito@foundationhoc.org to discuss potential funding opportunities and learn more about the grant process.

Grant applications may be submitted at any time. Most requests are reviewed quarterly, with the exception of those types indicated below. Click here to download the 2018 Grant Application Schedule. Please note, all emergency requests will be considered promptly.

TARGETED GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Youth Sports, Wellness and Recreation Mini-Grants

This mini-grant application is to be used to encourage and support community health and wellness through youth programs in Herkimer and Oneida counties.

Education Enrichment Mini-Grants

This mini-grant application is to be used for grant requests for education enrichment programs for youths or adults that meet the following criteria:

  • Request does not exceed $10,000 for one program and organization is requesting funding for only one program.
  • All grant funds will be used for direct program expenses.

Capital Campaign Support Grants

Drafts Due: August 31, 2018

Capacity Building Mini-Grant

Although capacity building can have many interpretations, for the purposes of this grant, we are defining it as something that “improves organizational capability and competence.” It is an activity or project with a goal of “strengthening the organizational platform upon which mission and program rest.” These activities can include strengthening one or more of the following: administrative systems, management, financial resources and/or governance.

Independent Senior Living

The Community Foundation is offering a new investment opportunity to help seniors residing in Herkimer or Oneida counties to live as independently as possible. Applications should be for new or enhanced programs that relate to a need identified in the Community Assessment of Senior Needs for Herkimer and Oneida Counties.
