Mele Scholarship Fund
A scholarship fund established by the Mele Family to provide 4-year scholarships to over 20 school districts within Herkimer and Oneida counties.
Overview
In the late 1950s, the Mele family, known for their stewardship and community involvement, established a foundation that they hoped would help grow their philanthropic impact. Since then, the Mele's have awarded hundreds of scholarships to deserving students in Herkimer and Oneida counties.
Students from over 20 school districts—Adirondack, Camden, Central Valley, Clinton, Dolgeville, Herkimer, Holland Patent, Little Falls, New Hartford, New York Mills, Oriskany, Owen D. Young, Poland, Remsen, Rome, Sauquoit, Utica, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Waterville, Westmoreland, and Whitesboro—are eligible for the 4-year Mele Family Scholarships.
