Flavored Layers Art Fund
An agency fund established by Flavored Layers Art, Inc. to support artists, creative experiences, and community-based programming in Utica, across Oneida County, and throughout the Mohawk Valley. It also plays a vital role in advancing a capital campaign to acquire and transform the historic Egbert Bagg Elementary School on Mandeville Street, located in Downtown Utica’s Arts & Historic District, into a permanent hub for creativity, learning, workforce development, and community cultural connection.
Overview
Flavored Layers Art, Inc. focuses on expanding access to creativity through inclusive, community-centered learning, workforce development, and programming. The organization fosters environments where artists, students, and community members can come together to explore ideas, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful creative experiences that support growth and connection.
This fund aims to advance both place-based development and programming efforts; a key goal is the planned transformation of the historic Egbert Bagg Elementary School into a Community Creativity, Cultural & Learning Center. Through workshops, artist talks, curated exhibitions, and cultural gatherings, the fund will support both emerging and established artists while encouraging broad community participation.
