Overview

Christine was a dedicated, lifelong educator for more than 40 years.  She was best known for the 32 years she spent at Rome Free Academy as Mrs. Cal. Her RFA teaching career focused on several high school sciences, but the classroom was her canvas. The impact she had on the many young minds sitting in the desks lining her classroom will be felt for decades to come. She cared deeply about every student she taught while never taking credit for the successes each one achieved. She never retired.

Christine earned the distinction of New York State Master Teacher and was an adjunct professor at SUNY ESF.

Her advocacy for children was rooted well beyond classroom. Christine served on the Westmoreland Central School District’s Board of Education since 2019, most recently serving as Vice President.

Christine will certainly be best known for her energetic personality complimented kindly by her genuine laugh and sincere smile. Every room she entered felt her presence, but it was never overwhelming. Most notably, she will be remembered by the ever-infectious joy she spread to all those who knew her.
