Overview

Charles H. Adrean D.S.C. Post 625 supports the personal and civic development of America’s youth through programs such as baseball and softball, as well as through service to local charities and community initiatives. These efforts rely on the dedication and participation of volunteers and student-athletes who represent their Posts.

This scholarship is intended to provide practical assistance toward post-secondary education or training. It may be used to help cover educational expenses at any accredited institution, whether for academic, professional, or trade programs. The award will also remain available for recipients who enter active military service, allowing them to claim it upon their return and apply the skills gained through both service and athletics.

Charles H. Adrean D.S.C. Post 625 Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship established by American Legion Post 625 to recognize outstanding athletes graduating from schools in the American Legion's District 5 of New York State for their excellence in baseball, academics and community service.

Candidates are identified by a committee.

  • Must be a graduate of a school within the American Legion District 5 geography (Herkimer County, Oneida County, Jefferson County, Lewis County, Oswego County, and/or Onondaga County)

  • Must be a rostered American Legion baseball player in good standing

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university, college, or postgraduate training program, including but not limited to two- or four-year institutions and other accredited vocational, training, and certificate programs
