Please note that scholarships administered by the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties are awarded through a variety of different mechanisms, including by school district selection, public application, or through our community partners, such as Utica Dollars for Scholars.
Established by Edward G. Hays to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career in aviation.

Be a student in the Airframe & Powerplant Technology Program or Small Unmanned Aerial Systems Program (sUAS) at MVCC

Selected based on academic achievement, need, and commitment to the program

Consideration should be given to personal behaviors that would give the expectation of one who would complete the program, be a team player, and have a successful career in aviation
Established by the friends and family of Sgt. Christopher Curtis Simpson to award scholarships to students attending Mohawk Valley Community College.

Be accepted and planning to attend Mohawk Valley Community College either full or part time

Maintain an average of 2.0 or better

Demonstrate financial need beyond any educational GI benefits

Special considerations shall be given to applicants who: have a military or ROTC background; are applying with GED diplomas; plan to study education with the hope of becoming a junior or senior high school teacher, or are interested in human services

Has overcome a personal challenge or faced a difficult life experience, such as a disability, illness, accident, or family crisis (preferred)
