Overview

Notre Dame Schools has created an endowment fund in the name of the Salerno family in honor of Father Joseph Salerno and his unwavering dedication to Catholic education.

Ordained May 3, 1980, Father Joe's 43 years of service included stints in Endicott, Binghamton, Lee Center and New Hartford. His last appointment of over two decades was pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica, now the parish of Mary Mother of Our Savior. He formerly served as police and fire chaplain. An avid supporter of Catholic Education, Father Joe is a former board member of Notre Dame Schools in Utica; he currently sits as board chair of the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.

The Salerno Catholic Education Fund supports Notre Dame Schools' educational endeavors, including helping families by providing them with financial aid to assist with tuition costs.
