TED talk: ‘The way we think about charity is dead wrong’

We love TED Talks here at The Foundation and we thought this one had a message that our nonprofits would love hearing.

Dan Pallotta talks about why charities’ fundraising tactics are all wrong. He says donors are everywhere and want to give in time, talent and dollars. They need to be asked. And they need to be asked in a whole new way.

He also talks about nonprofit spending and how our society needs to rethink the way we expect nonprofits to spend the money they bring in. And what if we could move charitable giving to 3 percent of the GDP rather than 2 percent?
