Dan Heath to speak in Utica, NY
We are thrilled to announce this year’s featured speaker in The Foundation’s fourth annual Corporate Partners-sponsored Speaker Series will be New York Times bestselling author Dan Heath.
Heath will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at SUNYIT. A social networking pre-event will begin at 6 p.m.
Heath is a senior fellow at Duke University’s CASE center, which supports entrepreneurs who are fighting for social good. He is the co-author of “Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard,” which debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. The Heath brothers previously co-wrote the critically acclaimed book “Made to Stick,” which was named the Best Business Book of the Year. The latest Heath brothers’ book is “Decisive: How to Make Better Decisions in Life and Work.”
Heath is the fourth speaker in The Foundation’s Speaker Series. Previous speakers have included urban theorist Richard Florida, education reformist Geoffrey Canada and New Jersey senator Cory Booker. Those speakers generated buzz, conversation and eventual action from community members. The series draws engaged community members from all over the region. Last year’s event drew 1,800 residents.
The series – a gift from The Foundation and its Corporate Sponsors – intends to spark conversation and action in the community.
