The Community Foundation supports local arts, including programs at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute.

Here at The Foundation, we believe in the power of our artists, arts institutions and creative minds to drive Herkimer County and Oneida County forward. That’s why arts and culture is a priority area in our grant funding.

By making grants for the arts, we know we can continue to build a foundation for a thriving community filled with color, life and movement.

Thanks to carefully researched programs and partnerships, The Foundation is making grants for the arts where our indicators show our community most needs it.

Currently, arts grants focus on meeting two community goals:

  • To Increase the number of participants in arts and culture programs.
  • To Increase collaborative efforts of arts and culture institutions.

We know that when community members have greater access to arts and culture, communities thrive. With various partners, we have identified a need to convene the many incredible arts organizations in our area. Through these convenings and our research we have identified ways arts grants can most impact the community.
