25/25 session moving Foundation closer to education goal

The Community Foundation’s first strategic planning session to reach its 25/25 goal attracted more than 60 community members who came together to brainstorm ways we all can reach this goal – that 25 percent of Herkimer and Oneida county residents will have bachelor’s degrees by 2025.

The sessions were led by Maxwell School’s Catherine Gerard with brief presentations by Mark Barbano, from the New York State Department of Labor and Shawna Papale of Mohawk Valley EDGE. Each gave a depiction of national, local and state statistics as pertinent to existing and future job markets.

Those who attended provide The Foundation with tangible thoughts, ideas and challenges for meeting the 25/25 goal. Future sessions will further explore these ideas and pursue how the action of them.
