Farmers Markets support equals a healthier Oneida County and Herkimer County
A recent investment to the newly formed Farmers Market Federation of New York will help to strengthen farmers markets in Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties, including giving better access to low-income residents. The alliance is led by Cornell Cooperative Extension with the intention of providing guidance and support to farmers market organizers and vendors. With this partnership, the alliance will help farmers markets and their vendors more effectively reach audiences, whether through marketing or sales. The community benefits by having wider access to healthy affordable foods, while local farmers and agro-businesses are being widely supported.
